Say "GOOD-BYE" to overwhelm

It Was Never You

Why I Do This Work

I spent nearly four decades as a psychotherapist. Four decades sitting across from people who were suffering needlessly.

Not because they lacked intelligence, or drive, or heart. Because the system that was supposed to help them had already done its one job, give them a name for what was wrong, and quietly stopped there.

A diagnosis is not a plan. It never was. And I watched it get handed to person after person like it was the finish line, when it was barely the starting gun.

The Gap Nobody Talks About

Here’s what almost nobody says out loud: you can be fully aware of what’s wrong, and still have absolutely no idea what to do about it. Awareness was never the missing piece. Skills were.

I know this because I lived it before I ever taught it.

I didn’t read a book cover to cover until I was fifty-two years old. Not one. Not because I wasn’t smart, because I have never, for one day of my life, lacked intelligence or drive. Because nobody had ever shown me how to work with my brain instead of against it. Every system I tried was built for a brain that wasn’t mine, and when it didn’t work, I did what almost everyone in this position does. I blamed myself.

At fifty-two, I designed an experiment instead. A treadmill, one and a half miles an hour, a fifteen percent incline, thirty minutes, every morning, and I read while I walked. By day thirty, I had read every word, and I remembered all of it.

That wasn’t a miracle. That was the right order, for the first time, for my own brain.

What I Built From That

I didn’t just find a trick that worked for me. I spent years turning what I rebuilt into a system other capable adults could use, without having to lose everything first to find it. That system is GSD, Get Sh*t Done, and it starts exactly where the system that failed me never thought to look: not at the symptoms, but at the beliefs, the identity, and the actual skills underneath them.

Thirty-plus years working directly with adults. Nearly forty years in clinical practice before that. I’ve spent my whole working life in the space between what’s wrong and what actually helps, and I am done pretending those are the same thing.

The Movement

Here’s what I believe, plainly: the mental health system, as it exists today, diagnoses and stops. It was never built to teach you the skills underneath the diagnosis, the ones that would let you stop managing your life and start living it. Millions of capable adults are quietly drowning inside a system that mistakes naming the problem for solving it.

I’m done watching it happen.

I’m not interested in another awareness campaign. Awareness was never the problem. I’m building a movement of adults who are done suffering needlessly, done performing a competence they don’t feel, done waiting for permission to feel as capable as they already are.

If you’ve spent years managing a gap nobody else can see, if you’ve been handed a label, or a diagnosis, or just a quiet sense that something was supposed to click into place and never did, I want you to hear this clearly.

It was never you.

It was always the missing instructions. And instructions can be learned, at any age, starting today.
