Welcome to the thirteenth episode of Harness Your ADHD Power, a podcast show I created to explore the many facets of adult life with ADHD and how you can learn to harness your personal ADHD power to become unstoppable.
Today’s episode was inspired by the many conversations I’ve been having lately about just how difficult it is to get started or make a plan or stick to the plan or keep your word to yourself or stop yourself from choosing again or prioritizing or getting yourself to stop or dealing with things that get in the way or dealing with the daily interruptions, and after all of that chaos…actually getting things done that need to be done and that you are capable of doing if it weren’t for everything that just seems to go wrong.
In case you’ve started to “tune out” or feel flooded just hearing me talk about what I learned to do, please don’t let yourself go there; it doesn’t serve you. Sure, it might sound like so much to learn when you hear it all at once, yet you can take all the time you need to learn what you need to do for you in order to live a less chaotic life. You can always listen to this podcast episode again, and take it at your own pace. In fact, you can even take a break while listening today, if it’s become too much, and make sure you come back to it a little later today or certainly by tomorrow; set a reminder if that’s what you decide to do. So long as you are open-minded, willing and teachable, it’s not too late to convert your life into one that’s less stressful for you and easier to live with. I hope you’ll keep an open mind to the possibilities that lie ahead.
In this episode, I’m going to be taking a look at WHY it can be so difficult to get it together and keep it together, while holding the line with boundaries and everything you need to do to have a fully functioning life, and what you can do about it, as well as other related issues. AND – Knowing is only the first step; the next step is taking action on what you know to get new results and fine tune your process and results as you go along. It is a process, so please don’t let yourself off the hook here with taking action once, not getting the results you hoped for, and stopping there. Keep going!!
